Apps without a subscription

Many apps for children and new parents are free to install and then ask for a monthly or weekly subscription. Plippo’s two apps are free to try, and each has one optional purchase that unlocks more — paid once, never a subscription.

How it works

You install the app and use it. If it earns its place, you buy the unlock once — the Kids Pass in Plippo Games, Baby Pro in Plippo Baby. The purchase is handled by Apple’s or Google’s own store and shows in your own currency.

It stays on your store account: install the app on a new phone with the same account, restore the purchase in the app, and it is unlocked again at no cost.

Why not a subscription

A subscription renews whether or not anyone opened the app that month, and it gives an app every reason to pull you back with notifications and streaks. Plippo apps have neither: no streaks, no daily rewards, no notifications designed to bring you back.

A one-time purchase only works if the app is worth having, so that is what Plippo builds for.

What the free version includes

Plippo Games (ages 3–8): a set of games to play for free, with no adverts; the Kids Pass adds many more games, pages to print and Plippo’s dress-up days. Plippo Baby: the tracker from pregnancy onwards; Baby Pro adds more — see the app site for what each includes today.

Questions

Do Plippo apps have a subscription?

No. Each app has one optional, one-time purchase. There is no subscription in either app, and none is planned.

What happens if I get a new phone?

Sign in to the same Apple or Google account, install the app and restore the purchase in the app. It is unlocked again at no cost.

How much does it cost?

The App Store and Google Play show the price in your own currency on each app’s page. It is one payment.
